The risk here is not particularly that Israel, as a close ally, gets the information. It is that Israel itself is subject to spying, for example by the Russian Mafia and organized crime, and also that it has in the past sold U.S. technology to other nations, e.g. to China. We would also point out that many, many American Jews oppose Sharon-Likud and are in the forefront of exposing the spies, lies and Likud dominance in Washington. Today rather, it is the political Religious Right which now shields the lobby, giving cover, money and respectability, e.g. no one is more pro-Likud-Zionist then House Congressional leader, the Armageddonite, Tom Delay (his motives, e.g. "the war between America and Iraq is the gateway to the Apocalypse" -HARPER'S Aug., 2005.
